As readers may have gathered from reading my posts there is a central theme to this blog – the digital divide and education. I am a strong believer in equality and feel everyone should have a right to an education and to develop to their full potential. However, for children entering education, lack of computing/internet skills/access can potentially have a detrimental effect on their learning experience. Schools are using technology more and more to support learning; be it doing extra research on the internet or using Word to type an essay. Although good old pen and paper and text books are brilliant – one cannot deny that technology skills are a must for this ever growing digital world.
